How it works Box.jpg

Let’s get started.

Step 1: Fill Out Our Submission Form.

Send us a submission form with your information and concerns so we can schedule a phone consultation and get started!

STEP 2: A Phone Consultation.

After we hear from you, we schedule a complimentary phone consultation where we learn more about what prompted you to reach out, what you are observing with your child, what supports you may or may not have in place, and other contributing factors that may be impacting your child’s executive functioning (previous traumas, family dynamics, concerns with the school, etc). We will also answer all of your preliminary questions.

STEP 3: The Executive Functioning Assessment.

After the phone consultation, you and your child will meet with Jessica Shore, our founder and CEO, or Della Anderson, our Senior Executive Functioning Specialist, for an Executive Functioning Assessment. This assessment is designed so that we can hear from your child about how they view their current academic experiences. We will assess their relationship to missing homework, current time management, organization, and study skills, subject strengths and weaknesses, identity with grades, and so on. This will allow us to ascertain their current executive functioning strengths and weakness and to create a custom strategy based on their needs.

The assessment is an hour and will take place via Zoom. Jessica or Della will then send you a comprehensive summary of the assessment and their recommended tutoring strategy as well as professional recommendations including ways to better involve your child’s school, outside supports or therapy, and at home routines.

STEP 4: Weekly Sessions Begin.

Your child will then be matched with the tutor that is the best fit for their educational goals and personality. They will then meet individually with that same tutor (building that relationship is so important) once each week at the same time. If your child needs additional support, we can provide that but our typical student meets weekly. We currently holding all sessions virtually.

STEP 5: Next steps.

After their sessions begin, you will have access to the tutor as well as Jessica and Della to discuss your child’s progress and any further observations you see as they begin to develop their executive functioning skills. It is at this juncture that we can schedule any needed consultations, programs, or additional sessions. This is an organic process and it is our goal to always be tailoring our approach to best meet the ongoing and ever-evolving needs of your child and your family.

Frequently Asked Questions.

How does billing work?

We bill at the end of the week for all sessions rendered. We accept credit/debit draws, PayPal, and checks.

What if we need to cancel or reschedule our sessions?

We know that life comes up and sometimes you have to cancel or reschedule a session. To avoid a late cancellation fee, we ask for 24 hours notice barring illness or emergency.

Are there package options?

Our model operates on the principal that each child’s needs are unique. It is for this reason that we do not offer packages, as each student responds differently to our support. To that end, we also do not require a minimum number of sessions. We provide the flexibility needed to pause sessions or continue at any juncture in this process.

Where do we meet?

Due to Covid, we are holding all of our sessions via Zoom.

When do we meet?

Your child will meet with their tutor at the same time weekly. We work 7 days a week after school hours and on weekends. Once your child is matched with the tutor that is the best fit for them, we will take into account your scheduling limitations and find a time that will work consistently for you given our availability.

Am I allowed at the sessions?

Our goal is to help your child develop the skills they need to be fully independent learners. It is for that reason that we ask that you do not attend their sessions. This will also give them the space you may need as well to mitigate any tension in the home. You can rest assured that we will make sure your child is being held accountable to the strategies we create for them each week.
